Hi!
My name is Karel Kroeze, and I'm a computational statistician and data scientist with a broad range of interests.
I work as a researcher for the Behavioural Data Science incubator at BMS Lab. That means I'm here to support all BMS researchers and staff with leveraging the benefits of data science in their day-to-day work. Wether that is applying state-of-the-art methods to your research topic, figuring out new ways to use complex datasets, or creating beautiful visualizations to better communicate your research - we can help get you started.
In the past, I've worked on working on creating 'smart' learning environments. These environments can provide contextualized and personalized feedback to students, and adapt themselves to the student's level. I've also worked on multidimensional computerized adaptive tests - and created an R package to simulate and administer such tests.
In my spare time, I enjoy tinkering with technology. That includes my personal website, creating award-winning mods for games, and creating a smart home with my Raspberry Pi(s).
